What is DebiCheck?
DebiCheck (a PASA initiative) is a new secure system that allows customers to electronically authenticate debit orders before their account is debited.
DebiCheck protects customers from debit orders being processed without their permission and allows them to confirm the transaction details, giving them peace of mind.
The Merchant can also feel secure that the debit order and customer banking details are correct, and the customer cannot unfairly dispute their valid debit orders. This results in Merchants having better control over their cash flow and also ensures debit orders are processed in a compliant manner.
It will be compulsory for all South African businesses to use DebiCheck to manage debit orders as of October 2021.
